Preparation of Country Report

GUIDELINES FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE COUNTRY REPORT

Program participants are requested to prepare and submit their country report individually or as a group (each country) to the Global Railway Expert Training Course Manager at WSU via e-mail at dhj06142@naver.com until August 15, 2024.

Note. Korean Government Scholarship Program includes a 'Country report' session where participants have an opportunity to analyze each country's current status and circumstances in the program subject and share it with other participants and Korean experts. It aims to provide appropriate solutions and insights to the identified problems and issues of their countries.

The country report should be in MS PowerPoint format. The length of the report should not exceed twenty A4-sized pages. The report should be written in English and double-spaced.

All participants are required to give a 15-minute presentation on their country report individually or as a group.

TOPICS TO BE COVERED IN THE COUNTRY REPORT

All participants will make an individual or group presentation titled "Country report" following the guidelines below:

A. Programs to provide education of highly professional experts who can lead the industry and research in advanced railway technology
  • Possible subject 1: Status of railway industry and facing issues.
  • Possible subject 2: Advanced railway technology status and status of professional education also technology development.
  • Possible subject 3: Industry forecast of railway and relationship with Korean railway Industry
B. Details of Country Report Preparation
  • National level service structure
    • Describe government policies or guidelines on the above subjects. (Short-term or long-term plans: goals, priorities, strategies, etc.)
  • Strategic policies
    • Introduce your organization including personnel, main roles, and policy.
    • Introduce your railway industry including scale of plant equipment, advanced railway technology, professional training in railway field.
  • Data collection, reporting and monitoring system
    • What kinds of statistical data are collected?
    • Describe major problems with the current data collection, reporting and monitoring system.
    • Is there any quality control and quality assurance activities?
  • Statistical data on the following information (Please indicate the source of the data)
    • Railway safety management
    • International rail interchange status
    • Chart production
  • Other relevant information
    • Railway related laws
    • Is there any specialized education for railway?
    • Any other information
