On January 15, 2024, participants in the Woosong University Global Railway Training Program had the unique opportunity to visit Hyundai Rotem for an extensive on-site tour. The event, which began in the morning, featured a variety of programs aimed at providing trainees with a comprehensive understanding of Korea’s cutting-edge railway technology and industry practices.

The day started with an introduction to Hyundai Rotem, followed by a screening of corporate videos and a guided tour of the company's manufacturing facilities, including the body assembly plant. One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to experience a test ride on the EMU-320, Hyundai Rotem’s next-generation high-speed train.

The global railway trainees began their journey by taking the KTX from Seoul to Osong, where they boarded the EMU-320. This high-speed train took them to Dongdaegu Station, from which they continued to Hyundai Rotem’s Changwon factory for a detailed on-site tour.

Throughout the various programs, trainees were able to witness firsthand the excellence and technological prowess of Korea’s railway industry. They observed the meticulous processes involved in the production of rolling stock and gained insights into the innovations driving the future of high-speed rail.

The visit provided an invaluable opportunity for the trainees to engage directly with industry experts, ask questions, and deepen their understanding of advanced railway systems. It also underscored the importance of global collaboration in the ongoing development of railway technology. The trainees left the site with a greater appreciation for the achievements of Hyundai Rotem and the critical role it plays in the global railway industry.

This visit was a significant part of the Global Railway Training Program, reinforcing the international perspective of the participants and contributing to their professional growth in the field of railway engineering.
