On October 2, 2024, the official welcome ceremony for the Korean Government Scholarship Program for Overseas Government Railway Staffs was held in the main conference hall of Woosong University. Hosted by Chief Administrative Officer Lee Juhyeong, the event brought together representatives from key organizations such as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea and the Korea Railway Association, creating an atmosphere of warmth and collaboration.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the president of Woosong University, alongside the program's head and other distinguished guests, all eager to extend their heartfelt welcome to the incoming trainees. The event commenced with congratulatory speeches from the president of Woosong University and the executive vice-president of the Korea Railway Association, reflecting the shared commitment to fostering global railway talent. This was followed by an inspiring response speech from trainee representative Jasur Anorkulov, and self-introductions from each trainee, adding a personal touch to the occasion. The event concluded on a high note with a commemorative group photo, symbolizing the beginning of this meaningful journey.
Since its inception, the 7th Korean Government Scholarship Program for Overseas Government Railway Staffs has been dedicated to nurturing globally minded railway professionals. With the trainees set to complete their program in August next year, this initiative continues to serve as a bridge connecting Korea with the world through excellence in railway development.
