On August 12, 2025, Woosong University held the 7th Completion Ceremony of the Global Railway Training Program under the Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP). The event took place at the W7 Hall Auditorium on Woosong University’s Seochang Campus, co-organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), the Korea Railway Industry Association, and Woosong University.

The Global Railway Training Program is a one-year master’s course designed for government officials and railway professionals from around the world. The 7th cohort, which began in September 2024, included 32 trainees from 13 countries: Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Poland, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Throughout the program, trainees completed courses in railway engineering and policy, conducted research in their respective fields, and participated in field visits to major railway facilities and industry sites in Korea, gaining hands-on knowledge of the country’s advanced railway technologies and systems.

The ceremony featured opening remarks, presentation of completion certificates, and congratulatory speeches by representatives from MOLIT, the Korea Railway Association, and Woosong University. A group photo session followed the formal program, concluding with words of encouragement for the graduates’ future contributions to global railway development.

After the ceremony, the trainees will return to their home countries to complete their master’s theses and proceed with the degree conferral process.

The 7th completion ceremony marked the successful conclusion of a year-long program aimed at cultivating international railway experts and strengthening global cooperation and knowledge exchange in the railway sector.
