On October 1, 2025, the official welcome ceremony for the 8th Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) for Overseas Government Railway Staffs was held in the main conference hall of Woosong University. Hosted by Head Administrator Lee Juhyeong, the event brought together representatives from key organizations, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea and the Korea Railway Industry Association, creating a warm and collaborative atmosphere.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of the president of Woosong University, Go-Whan Jin, along with the program director and other distinguished guests, all gathered to warmly welcome the new trainees. The event began with congratulatory remarks from President Go-Whan Jin and the executive vice-president of the Korea Railway Industry Association, highlighting their shared commitment to developing global railway professionals.

This was followed by an inspiring response speech from the trainee representative, as well as self-introductions by each participant, which added a personal and engaging touch to the event. The ceremony concluded with a commemorative group photo, marking the beginning of a meaningful and promising journey.

Since its inception, the Korean Government Scholarship Program for Overseas Government Railway Staffs has been dedicated to cultivating globally competent railway professionals. Conducted by Woosong University, the program continues to promote international cooperation by sharing Korea’s advanced railway technology and expertise. With the trainees expected to complete their program in August next year, this initiative remains an important bridge connecting Korea with the global railway community.
