On November 27, 2025, trainees of the 8th Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) for Overseas Government Railway Staffs participated in a safety experience program at the Iksan Safety Training Center. The visit was organized to provide participants with hands-on training in various emergency situations that may occur in railway and industrial environments.

During the program, trainees engaged in realistic simulations designed to replicate potential accidents such as fire incidents, electrical hazards, earthquakes, floods, and train collisions. Through these activities, participants were able to directly experience high-risk scenarios and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of safety in railway operations.

In addition to emergency response training, the program included essential safety education related to railway fieldwork. This covered topics such as worker safety on tracks, emergency response procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and identification of potential risk factors. Instructors also shared practical case studies, helping trainees connect their experiences with real-world railway operations.

Through this field training, participants strengthened their ability to respond effectively to emergencies and improved their understanding of safety regulations. The program also enhanced their capability to identify and prevent potential hazards in railway environments. Furthermore, team-based missions encouraged collaboration and communication among trainees, contributing to the development of essential professional competencies.

This experience is expected to support participants in promoting a strong safety culture within their home countries’ railway sectors. In addition, their understanding of Korea’s advanced safety management system will serve as a valuable foundation for future international railway cooperation.
