On March 20, 2026, trainees of the Global Railway Master’s Program at Woosong University participated in a field trip to the Daejeon Transportation Corporation. A total of 35 participants, including five supervising professors, took part in the visit.

The field trip was organized to enhance participants’ understanding of urban railway operation and maintenance systems through real-world observation. The program focused on key facilities such as the Operation Control Center and the Panam Rolling Stock Depot.

At the Operation Control Center, trainees learned about real-time train operation management systems, as well as signal and communication-based control methods. They were also introduced to emergency response procedures and operational protocols, gaining a comprehensive understanding of urban railway control systems.

At the Panam Depot, participants observed train inspection and maintenance processes, including major component checks and the use of various inspection equipment. This hands-on experience provided valuable insights into maintenance systems that ensure railway safety and reliability.

Through this field trip, trainees were able to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications in urban railway systems. In addition, by directly observing safety management systems and operational procedures, they enhanced their practical understanding and professional competencies.

This experience is expected to support participants in improving railway operation efficiency and safety management in their home countries, contributing to the development of more advanced and reliable railway systems.
