On April 29, 2026, trainees of the 8th Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) for Overseas Government Railway Staffs at Woosong University visited DAEATI (DAE-A TI), a leading Korean company specializing in railway signaling and communication systems, at its headquarters in Magok, Seoul.
During the visit, trainees were warmly welcomed by DAEATI officials and received a comprehensive overview of the company's cutting-edge technologies and its role in Korea's railway signaling industry. The program included guided tours of the company's exhibition and demonstration facilities, where trainees were introduced to advanced systems such as Automatic Train Protection (ATP), electronic interlocking systems, integrated railway control solutions, and train communication systems.
The visit also featured detailed technical presentations on DAEATI's flagship products and ongoing R&D projects, including Positive Train Control (PTC) systems, LTE-based railway communication networks, and smart signaling solutions for urban and high-speed rail. Trainees had the opportunity to observe real-world applications of these technologies through live demonstrations and engaged directly with DAEATI engineers during interactive Q&A sessions, gaining practical insight into how signaling and communication systems ensure safe and efficient railway operations.
Following the company visit, trainees experienced Korea's latest metropolitan transit innovation firsthand by riding the GTX (Great Train eXpress), the nation's new high-speed commuter rail system. The group traveled round-trip between Daegok Station and Unjeong-Jungang Station, experiencing the GTX's maximum operating speed of 180 km/h — dramatically reducing travel time compared to conventional commuter services. Trainees were able to observe the train's advanced ride comfort, acceleration performance, and station facilities, gaining a practical understanding of how high-speed metropolitan rail infrastructure integrates with Korea's broader railway network to revolutionize urban mobility.

This visit was organized as part of the KGSP curriculum's technical field trip series, which is designed to bridge theoretical classroom learning with real-world industry practices. By exposing trainees from 12 partner nations — including Laos, Mongolia, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Kenya, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, and Panama — to Korea's leading railway signaling companies and next-generation transit systems, the program aims to enhance the professional skills and global perspective of railway officials and support railway modernization efforts in their home countries.
The KGSP Global Railway Training Program at Woosong University's Graduate School of Railway is supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), and continues to serve as a vital platform for knowledge exchange between Korea and partner countries in the railway sector.
