On May 20, 2026, the 3rd Networking Meeting of the 8th Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) for Overseas Government Railway Staffs was held at the Amid Hotel in Seoul, bringing together 76 participants — including 32 railway officials from 12 partner nations, 34 representatives from 22 Korean railway companies, and 10 staff from Woosong University and the Korea Railway Association — for an afternoon of knowledge exchange and business matchmaking.

The event, co-organized by Woosong University's Graduate School of Railway and the Korea Railway Association, was designed to foster sustainable global business networks between overseas railway officials and domestic railway enterprises. The meeting opened with welcoming remarks, followed by country-specific presentations on current railway status and business opportunities. Four trainees delivered detailed presentations: Llorente Chung Victoria Isabel (Panama Metro) on Panama's metro expansion and the planned Panama–David railway project, Amarjargal Armiisuren (Mongolian Railway) on Mongolia's railway infrastructure and expansion plans, Shohruhmirza Mannonov (Uzbekistan Railway) on railway modernization efforts, and Murodaliev Ardasher (Tajikistan Railway) on national railway development strategies.

Following the presentations, the program transitioned into a structured 1:1 business consultation session, where trainees met directly with Korean railway companies in 30-minute per-country slots, with each company engaging up to four countries. Participating Korean companies included iSYS Co., Ltd., WAVUS, Korea Railroad Technical Corporation, Incheon Transit Corporation, SHINBO, Cheil Engineering, Korea Railroad, DMEC, Korea Railroad Research Institute, Woojin Industrial Systems, SR Co., Ltd., Korea National Railway, LeTon Bridge, WOORI TECHNOLOGY INC., DAEATI, ENTEC Electric and Electronic, and others — spanning signaling, rolling stock, construction, engineering, and railway operations. The session concluded with casual networking, providing trainees and company representatives an open atmosphere to share business interests and explore potential collaboration.

This networking meeting was organized as a key component of the KGSP curriculum, designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world business engagement. By connecting trainees from 12 partner nations — Laos, Mongolia, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Kenya, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, and Panama — with Korea's leading railway companies, the program aims to cultivate future leaders in global railway development and foster lasting international cooperation in railway technology and business.

The KGSP Global Railway Training Program at Woosong University's Graduate School of Railway is supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), and continues to serve as a vital platform for knowledge exchange between Korea and partner countries in the railway sector.
